But now the Election Commission has made the entire system digital. You can easily download the voter list of any Village Panchayat, Municipality, Town Panchayat, or Corporation ward in Tamil Nadu directly from your mobile or computer.
What is SIR (Special Intensive Revision)?
SIR is a large, special, detailed update of electoral rolls conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
It is far more extensive than the routine annual voter list revision.
Main Goals of SIR:
- Add all eligible voters above 18
- Remove duplicate, deceased, or ineligible entries
- Correct errors in name, age, gender, or address
- Ensure a fully accurate and updated voter list before major elections
SIR is carried out under the ECI’s powers (Article 324 of the Constitution) and sections of the Representation of the People Act.

How to Download Tamil Nadu Voter List (Village / Ward PDF)
You can download the voter list for any Tamil Nadu district — Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Salem, Erode, Vellore, Thanjavur, Kanchipuram, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Thoothukudi, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Virudhunagar, and all others.
Step 1 – Visit the ECI Portal
Open voters.eci.gov.in
Scroll down → Click Download Electoral Roll under the “Services” section.
Step 2 – Select Your Details
Choose:
- State: Tamil Nadu
- District
- Assembly Constituency
- Language
- Roll Type → Final Roll 2025
- Enter Captcha
Step 3 – View Wards/Villages
All panchayat wards, town panchayat wards, municipality wards, corporation wards, and village segments will appear.
Step 4 – Load More Entries
Only 10 localities appear at a time.
Click the ( > ) arrow to view more.
Step 5 – Select Your Ward/Village
Tick the checkbox next to your area → scroll up → click Download Selected PDFs.
Step 6 – Download the Voter List PDF
